Class 66 Bobbins: For Older Singer Front-Loading Machines

Class 66 is a rounded-side bobbin used mainly by older Singer front-loading machines, and some drop-in machines. It is not interchangeable with Class 15 — the two are different sizes and shapes, even though both are common on Singer machines of different ages.

How to tell if you need Class 66

If your machine's bobbin sits in a removable case underneath the needle plate (front-loading), rather than dropping straight in from the top, and the bobbin itself has rounded rather than flat sides, it's likely Class 66. Check your machine's manual or model number to be sure before ordering.
