Bobbins for Brother Sewing Machines

Brother's home machines split across two bobbin patterns. Both are common, and they are similar in size but not automatically interchangeable — check which one your machine actually uses before ordering.

SA156 — Brother's own bobbin part number

SA156 is Brother's own designated bobbin, used across many Brother sewing and embroidery machines. It's a clear plastic bobbin, similar in size to Class 15 but built to Brother's own spec — check your manual for "SA156" or match it against your model number rather than assuming a Class 15 will do.

Class 15 — also used on many Brother machines

A number of other Brother home-sewing models use the more universal Class 15 standard (20.3mm outer diameter, 6.1mm inner diameter, 11.5mm height) instead of SA156. If your machine's bobbin drops in from the top and isn't listed as taking SA156, check for Class 15.
